Chocolate chip pancakes Friday, Mar. 25, 2005 A funny Momus quote which could be applied to me and Athens: "If something tastes bad, or someone is poorly presented, I veer away. I assume we can't share a worldview. This can sound harsh and snobby, and it does mean that communication might be limited to interaction with people who think the same way as you do, or whom you idealize successfully. It's an ongoing issue in my thinking, this, but I suspect my emotions will win in the end: texture will win over text, and instinct over reason, and form over content." I used to think people who are all like I have to get out of Athens ASAP because it sucks were idiots, but now, I understand. When I begin to associate so many parts of town with suck, I can't help but viscerally feel it. I went to Lunch Paper alone last night and felt so out of place, it was retarded. Haha, I still would play there though. And I'll probably come off as a dick. If only I was still in high school, when people could still safely assume you had grown up with wolves rather than just being conceited. |
