OK, a subtle realization just came to the fore - from looping keyboard on tour, thinking about the 303 and arpeggiators, reading Generation Ecstasy, and really wanting to finish the General MIDI 12".

The MIDIs I make are either total rambles done with mouse clicks or partial rambles done with mouse clicks that are checked for timing and harmony... aka I can't be lucky all the time with random writing and have to put some work into stuff to like more of it.

But, if I write a bunch of garble, there will usually be a passage or two that I really, really like. Well, I can just loop those by themselves.

Maybe this method will help me finish the record.
