First, I record improvised instrumentals. These suggest computer file names by date/season/the number of the file taken by the 4-track. These suggest an order for the CD-R. Make it or don't. These suggest song titles. These may suggest words. Then take the riffs and make the next life of the song. That may make the words. If not, make up words at the show, and tape record that. Then listen to the tape, and the song should almost be solid. Then make the CD-R/tape, and there the song is.

Mario Paint songwriting is a little different, because Mario has a better memory than me.
