The ultimate challenge of the Internet is to make something originally great and yet refer back to so much of it that is part originally great and part been there forever.
That is why I think there's a bottleneck to greatness on the Internet. You can be good and unconnected, but you can't be great. Got to connect to everything, fold everything on top of itself and keep folding.
It's like that parable that you can only fold a sheet of paper so many times. But, in this case, the Internet or "the sheet of paper" is being created by many millions of people so you can always keep folding it back on itself, and you need to in fact. Regular paper can just sit there forever and be eternally charged with this sense of oblivion and other side, but for the Internet you have to keep making that possible and working hard.
