One before, one after

Banner phenomenon
Friday, September 13, 2002
If my banner gave you a seizure, you should probably write Andrew about it. All banners are checked by content, presumably by him or some special team he has assembled. You can ask him to not accept flashing banners. I had no intent in making people angry with my flashing banner add. I am a super fan of gif graphics and animated ones in particular, so when I made my banner ad flash between normal and negative at a rate of 1 millisecond, it was an expression of years of study and exploration of animated graphics and love.

Nevertheless, my Diaryland membership expired a couple hours ago, so I imagine that my banner is not running any longer anyway. In a way, the banner was an act of going down with the ship. Money is tight, and I get obsessive over viewing stats, so it is probably better for me not to have the membership again as fun as it was for the year I had it.

For those of you who never saw my banner, it said "Koalapad" in neon green script drawn in Paint and had a picture of a koala face coming out of a vortex. And, it was animated and went between normal and negative versions of itself as I have stated above. I mean, it was a koala face coming out of a vortex, after all.
